WIBRAIN is a research consortium, established in 2012 by Belgian and international academic partners. It focuses on the fundamental mechanisms of brain wiring and aims at understanding critical regulators of neural wiring, from Drosophila to human, using molecular, genetic, neurophysiological, morphological and behavioral approaches.

WIBRAIN is coordinated by André Goffinet and generously funded for a period of 5 years, by the Belgian Science Policy Office (BELSPO), in the context of the Interuniversity Attraction Poles (IAP), Phase VII programme.

The project stems from a strong commitment by the consortium partners to join forces and make significant contributions to the wide domain of brain wiring research.
